Real Life Is A Mixed Bag
In crappy news, my cat, Avon, had to be put to sleep last week. Basically, it sucked (understatement) but it was the right decision. :(
Also last week, two of my best friends moved to Africa for the next year. It's super great for them and I hope to get the chance to visit them. I'm gonna miss them like crazy though (thank goodness for instant messaging/email/video chat).
lost_land and
teamothers are going well-ish. The non-participants (of which there are too many for my liking) are starting to stress me out but the people who are participating in team comm/challenges are awesome! I'm having a fun time getting to know everyone and seeing the awesome stuff they make. We won our first challenge the other day which was nice. :D
I went to see Rufus Wainwright last week. It was the end of his tour and he let all of his emotions (of which there were many) loose. He sounded beautiful as ever and his sister, Martha, was great too (her Edith Piaf covers were amazing).

I didn't take any of these but I'm glad someone did.

Setlist for the second set and encore. He played (the whole of?) All Days Are Nights: Songs For Lulu as the first set.

So dramatic!

I ♥ everything he wears (even if I think it's ugly).

I'm glad the concert was good, though!

It was great! Very emotional and a really interesting mix of music.

Wow. Your friends moved to Africa? I hope they'll have a wonderful time there, and I hope y'all can keep in touch regularly.
Also, I'm glad you and the Mothers are having a good time. It sucks that there are a bunch of slackers on the team though. I'm gonna pimp at my comm tomorrow, and hopefully, that'll lead more people to your awesome team. :)
Last of all, I'm really sorry to hear about Avon. I know you did what was best, and I can't imagine how hard it is to put your pet to sleep. *hugs*

Yup, to Tanzania. My friend is doing lawyer-y things w/refugees and her husband went with her.
That would be great. The people that are there are awesome, I just wish there weren't so many people totally absent (who have earned zero points and never check in on the comm).
It sucks, honestly. She wasn't that old so I didn't see it coming. But she was suffering so it had to be done. :( *hugs*

Slackers oughta be cut after 2 weeks of inactivity, right? Man, I really hope people will respond to my pimpage. Also,
I'm glad you put her out of her misery, but obviously, it fuckin' sucks that you now have to miss her so much.

The application pages warns that people who are inactive after challenge 10 will be cut so that should be really soon. I just don't understand joining a team and then literally never even checking in once. But, a lot of the newer people are stepping up so I won't mind if we have to cut some people and get fresh blood.
Pimping? Sweet! That reminds me, I need to go check out your 20in20 JGL icons (for he is the truth, after all). :D
I've gone through this with multiple pets but, yeah, it always sucks.

The thing is that even if you get moe newbies, there's just as much chance that they'll slack, too. I seriously don't get why some people join when they know they don't have time to be online and complete those challenges.
I'd love to get any feedback from you about my JGL batch. It was tons of fun to make, but some concrit never hurts. It's great to know what I can improve upon!
And awww, I'm sorry that you've had to endure that loss so much. I'm sure it hurts just as much as the first time whenever it happens. *hugs*

That's true but I've got my fingers crossed that a new load of noobs will be more into it.
I'm gonna comment as soon as my internet stops being a bitch (it & my email have been acting up for the last week). It's only partially loading the icons (even after refresh). Grrrrr, stupid computer.
Thanks *hugs back*
